Sourcing Assistant

As the sourcing assistant you will sit within a very close knit and supportive team to achieve a common goal. The function of this team is to run the full sourcing process including open market tenders and framework call offs through to handing over the signed contract.

You will gather and analyse internal and external data to support sourcing events seeking opportunities to drive further value maximisation, identifying new potential suppliers and seeking continuous improvement in ways of working.

You will support the development of request for Information, Supplier questionnaires, Request for Quotation, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, and Invitation to Tender packages for strategic sourcing events.

You will be supporting the Sourcing Managers and Senior Sourcing Manager with the above process and in turn be mentored and guided by them daily. This really is a team effort approach and communication is key!

Your day to day will involve supporting in administration, answering questions from Stakeholders and Suppliers and you will be the support mechanism to the sourcing function. You will be driven by variety with the unique opportunity within Southern Water to work across both direct and indirect procurement and support over 200 projects per year across all areas of the business, covering all categories and a wide range of products.

You will have strong organisational skills, be able to multitask and have a good knowledge of the MS Suite.
