The Role - Buyer - Direct
Reporting to the Category Sourcing Lead, as a Buyer you will be responsible for the quality, cost, and delivery performance of designated suppliers, ensuring that procured products and services for our world-leading landing gear are supplied on time and are available to support production requirements, while resolving supplier / cost issues.
You'll build relationships with customers and suppliers as you operate across the full product and service life cycle, ensuring that progress is reported. You'll manage the sourcing of goods and services, including raising / managing purchase documents within the ERP / procurement systems.
You'll maximise cost performance of CapEx spend, identifying and recommending and on-boarding new suppliers. You'll also draft and agree contracts with awarded suppliers.
Our Requirements -Buyer
* Proven procurement experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment
* Excellent understanding of inventory, supplier relationship, and category management / strategy
* Good understanding of value levers and cost drivers in relation to manufacturing processes
* Cost driven and commercially minded, with superb analytical skills
* Superb communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
* CIPS qualification, or willing to work towards
Although not essential, proven experience of contract writing and change management experience, would be highly advantageous.

As a Buyer, you will benefit from an attractive salary with the level dependent on experience and qualifications, along with an excellent benefits package, which includes:

* Early finish on Fridays
You'll work from our office in Runcorn and be employed on a permanent contract, working Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm, and Friday 8am to 1pm.
