We are recruiting for an EXPERIENCED Logistics Coordinator working for our client based in Hamilton and your hours of work would be Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, this is a newly created role which means you will have the scope to make it your own and you would be part of a lively team.

As the Logistics Coordinator you will work in the office overseeing the request for goods going out. This will include arranging commercial invoices and managing the shipments of products across the UK, Europe and rest of the world and filing documentation and applying Certificates of Origin through the Chamber of Commerce amongst other tasks, to do this you will work with and liaise with specialist shipment companies ensuring you obtain the best price and service. You will have to monitor shipping performance and work with exporters to ensure that all export documentation is completed accurately.

As the Logistics Coordinator you responsibilities are listed below

Acknowledging and notifying delivery schedules, arranging shipment, and producing supporting documentation.
Recording Shipment information into the Company Database.
Gathering and maintaining import/export data e.g. tariff codes & COO
Providing information for the creation of invoices for Payment and providing correct information for the Accounts Department.
Co-ordinate the shipping and export of sales orders throughout Europe and the rest of the world (shipping agents, haulage companies, overseas customers) with carriers such as DPD, UPS and Hermes.
Preparing and organising all relevant shipping documentation, keeping filing in order and up to date.
Processing enquiries and purchase orders within given timeframes.
Goods in/out administration.
Maintain customer and delivery details on the company database.
Maintain communication with internal and external customers.
Ensure our systems are kept accurate and up to date by regularly checking the integrity of data, ensuring any errors and omissions are corrected swiftly.
Willingness and flexibility to take on temporary responsibilities as cover for other team members in a small business environment.To be successful in the role of Logistics Coordinator you will need the following

We are looking for you to have worked in a Logistics environment, managing a shipping operation, with more of a focus on exports including customs and incoterms knowledge. You will have good IT systems knowledge including Excel. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively, and an excellent rapport with internal and external customers. Experience in a similar role involving logistics scheduling or production planning is essential.
