A fantastic opportunity has arisen working for a prestigious company based in Cheltenham. We are looking for a Commodity Manager to join the existing procurement team. This is a permanent role with plenty of scope. 

Job Purpose:
As a Commodity Manager you will be responsible for establishing and executing a commodity based supply chain strategy that delivers year on year business benefits and engages in supplier performance  improvement activities.
This is a key position in the business that allows forward planning of spend, establishes strong relationships with suppliers and supports the business desire for continuous improvement of business level processes.
Main Responsibilities:
* Standardisation of commodities across existing and new adoptions
* Develop and agree category plan for each commodity
* Rationalise suppliers by commodity and establish robust identification of capabilities for each commodity.
 
* Establish and execute procurement plans for each commodity
* Manage PPV execution and reporting, including commodity trend forecasting and
management.
* Manage and evaluate supplier proposals for commodity contracts
* Working with the legal and contracts teams, negotiate best contract solution that supports business KPIs and mitigates risk of supply.
* Manage contract landscape across UK sites extending across all sites where applicable.
* Lead and manage sourcing events that supports strategic direction
* Escalation point for contract conflict resolution or claim negotiation
* Lead contract handover to tactical team ensure material supply if protected and managed through the process.
* Engage closely with stakeholders to effectively manage supplier performance through
contract terms
* Engage closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate flow down of customer terms for project based contracts
Other Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance to all business policies and procedures and where applicable offer suggestions for continuous improvement of processes.
* Support Tactical team and/or business stakeholders in exceptional cases of supplier non-performance.
* Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements for suppliers, ethical trading standards and flow down of customer quality and delivery terms as required by the business.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the role that may be required to support business needs.
Preferred Educational Background:
* Degree Level educated or can demonstrate equivalent level of experience, knowledge and skills applied in practice.
 * Member of CIPS or appropriate professional institute
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Experience in commodity management (Aerospace preferred but not essential)
* Experience in manufacturing, service or maintenance environment
* Excellent negotiation, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to present solutions for stakeholder approval
* Commercially minded with an ability to deliver “outside of the box” solutions to commercial problems.
* Good understanding of contract law and ability to work closely with business legal and
contracts teams.
* Appreciation of cost saving methodologies and application of processes to deliver year on year savings against total costs of acquisition.
* Positive can-do attitude
* Strong IT skills, including working knowledge of MS office and ERP systems essential (Visual and/or Syteline preferred)
* Ability to be self-motivated and a confident decision maker within business approval
guidelines
* Experience and understanding of contract lifecycle management tools

Candidates will need to have the flexibility to travel both nationally and internationally as required to deliver contract strategy
