Inventory Control Officer
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex
Job Type: Temporary
Duration of booking: This is temporary ongoing with no end date specified at this stage

Pay Rates: GBP10.09 paye inclusive of holiday pay or GBP11.00 umbrella per hour
Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday,7am - 3pm or 8am to 4pm (15min break in morning, 30min lunch unpaid)
Duties
- Provide a fully managed Supply Chain and Logistics replenishment service for stock and non-stock products to user departments.
- Ensure that all stocks are managed appropriately and cost effectively, meeting the needs of user departments and that all products are replenished in accordance with agreed processes, policies and procedures.
- Ensure non-stock products received in Receipts and Despatch are distributed to user departments.
- Work as a team maintain an efficient replenishment process and cost effective stock levels.
- Maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders at the site
- To use initiative and work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
- To support the adoption of Scan4Safety systems and processes at the nominated site.
- To review site stock review schedules and suggest improvements to the Site Logistics Lead.
- To advise user departments on layout, storage space, shelving, storage bins, labelling of product and housekeeping of storage areas.
- Replenish Ward Stocks using appropriate technology to ensure accurate data capture
- Ensure that periodic stock reviews are completed with user departments and suppliers to assess reorder levels and reorder quantities
- Ensure Ward stock items are put in an agreed stock locations on the agreed day. Applying good FIFO working practices ensuring new stock is placed behind existing stock. Any expired product should be removed from the shelves
- Check and put away all ordered deliveries, deal with all emergency needs outside the normal cycle and all discrepancies and locate and provide emergency supplies of products to ward/department areas when required.
- Return empty cages the Stores areas, folded and stacked awaiting collection. Any unwanted packaging to be taken to the nearest disposal bin/area
- If any supply issues or problems are identified by end users, liaise with the Site Logistics Lead to agree suitable intervention. Escalate if necessary to the Head of Supply Chain or Category Teams as appropriate.
Please note this a very manual and physical job.
Experience, Skills and Qualification
- Proven experience in a Portering, Stock replenishment, Stocktake or very manual role
- Competent in operating computerised stock management systems.
- Working knowledge of stock replenishment systems.
- Able to handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
- Proficient user of all Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and Word.
- Possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated
- Good Team Player
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritise work and to meet challenging deadlines
- Finds positive solutions to challenging issues
- Sufficient to perform the duties of the post with any aids and adaptations
