Assistant Buyer - Drinks c GBP30,000

This profitable and entrepreneurial business, whose current client base includes
some of the UK's best-known restaurants, bars and clubs has a genuinely strong
presence in London and is increasing its sales around the country - through organic
growth and acquisition. With a turnover averaging over GBP100 million per annum in
the last decade it supplies a full range of drinks, spanning thousands of brands,
including spirits, wine and beer. Reporting to the head of buying, this role's
categories will include beer, cider and soft drinks - you'll work with some of the
biggest names in the drinks industry. Activities might include range reviews, vendor
rationalisation, new supplier sourcing and contract renegotiation. The best
candidates will probably bring some professional purchasing experience though
other functional specialisms could all be relevant as you'll be supported in
developing your buying skills. They'll certainly have good negotiation skills, strong
intellects, imagination and a high level of inter-personal skill coupled with passion
for this fascinating and rewarding industry
