My client, a fantastic manufacturing company are seeking a Buyer to join their Supply Chain team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right cost and quality!
Duties include:
• Help create and maintain appropriate supply agreements.
• Identify new suppliers who can offer new, innovative ideas to support designs
• Communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk on the business operation
• Evaluate potential suppliers through vendor management process
• Mitigate price increases and actively seek cost reductions
• Support and work closely within the team to ensure supplier performance is within agreed KPI's, provide KPI reports to the Supply Chain Manager
• Collaborate with the planning team to ensure company achieves on time delivery targets
• Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
Requirements:
• 3+ years' experience in a similar buying role
• CIPS qualification
• Manufacturing background
• 2+ years' experience with an ERP system
• Great negotiation skills and attention to detail
