Brownlow Furniture design and make bespoke kitchens and cabinetry in our workshop and offices on the outskirts of Chester, Cheshire. They harmonize traditional values with modern technological advances within their furniture production and are looking for a 'Buyer with a strong understanding of bespoke manufacturing requirements as they continue to experience growth into 2022

The 'Buyer will be working closely with all key sectors within the organisation in Project Management, Production, and Design to ensure all bought in items are available on time to meet manufacturing deadlines, as well as assess and replenish consumable materials/components as required. As part of the position, you will be required to establish good relationships with all suppliers and check that all ordered goods are on track as expected with the ability expedite items to remedy shortage problems.

The 'Buyer will engage with suppliers and negotiate the best prices/order quantities/payment terms and conditions, whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

Experience:

Relevant work experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Good level of ICT literacy and able to use MS Office
Confident at negotiating with suppliers and problem solving
Commercial awareness with an understanding of how failure impacts the business operation
Able to work well under pressure
Auto(CAD) experience (not essential) but beneficial
CIPS knowledge beneficial but not essential
Responsibilities:

End to end procurement, including contract and supplier management
Purchase a wide variety of goods outlined by client specifications and manufacturing consumables
Secure the most favourable terms regarding cost, quality guarantee of delivery and continuity of supply
Negotiate prices, continuously reviewing opportunities to make tangible savings
Manage purchase orders on company accounting software
Communicate any issues which may impact the business operations in a timely fashion
Work collaboratively to improve the performance of existing suppliers as escalate as appropriate
Compile data reports relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation
Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of an enthusiastic, supportive, and collaborative environment within the team setting
To undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager in accordance with company requirements
Assist with continuous improvement of goods in processes and storage
