Travel: Office based with potential for future hybrid working
Contract duration: 3 - 6 months with opportunity to go perm
Working hours: Mon - Thurs 08:30 - 17:00, Fri 08:30 - 16:00
Great opportunity for a motivated Buyer to work in Exeter. Our client is a long-term partner, and leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit out company. They deliver vital projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence, aviation, water and environment.
As a UK regional contractor, they provide specialist design and build capabilities and are experienced at project management and integrating all aspects of a project.
With over 130 years of experience in the construction and engineering sector, they are a trusted partner of central and local government and are used to working closely with their customers and supply chain to achieve outstanding results.
Duties:
Working closely with the Senior buyer and purchasing administrative staff to ensure that all purchase orders are detailed in an efficient and correct manner that falls within the existing purchasing protocols and company standards.
Negotiating with existing and new supply chain members.
Updating related procurement financial data and cost reporting (COINS)
Ideally have experience of procuring materials from external surface, RC frame and external building fabric as well as internal fit out materials
Have a good understanding of current market material costs and report change in any significant cost and delivery time issues to the Senior Buyer.Required experience:
Ideally from a Construction / FM / Building Services or assimilated background responsible for the procurement of building materials, plant within the construction sectorQualifications:
CIPS qualified or working towards membership.Software:
COINS - Essential
SAP - Ideal
Excel (Proficient)
