Are you a logistics procurement professional with expert knowledge of the European Road Transportation network? If so, this could be the perfect next opportunity for you to challenge yourself in a role to develop the European Road Transport strategy for a global industry leader in order to face the ever-growing challenges and complexities of the road transportation sector.
This position will require someone with an exceptional level of knowledge of the road logistics industry and how to maximise costs in fuel, labour, tolls, security and intermodal transport. Experience working for a major logistics carrier and gaining direct insights of the industry and its key cost drivers will be highly beneficial in this position when preparing proposals and tenders.
The EMEA Procurement Manager for Road Transport must have the following skills and experience:-
- Multinational road transportation logistics experience with a comprehensive knowledge of carriers and suppliers that provide local, regional and global services
- Excellent commercial knowledge with regards to road transportation costs such as fuel, labour, tolls, security and intermodal transport
- Experience in developing and/or managing a 4PL Control Tower and how to maximise its effectiveness to the business and its customers
- A track record of delivering cost-effective solutions to road transportation gained from working in either a global procurement & supply chain department or a major carrier
- Implementation and utilisation of Logistics Management systems such as EcoVadis, Transporeon and JDA
