Prince Personnel are working with a growing business within Telford who is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their existing procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of all non-production items such as consumables, packaging, engineering parts and tooling for production. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving industry where you will be able to really put your mark on the role and use your existing knowledge to drive and improve processes and systems within the purchasing department.
The Buyer will be responsible for:
* Overseeing procurement activities for all non-production commodities
* Working with existing suppliers to strengthen relationships and negotiate on lead times, pricing, availability, and capabilities
* Researching and sourcing potential new suppliers
* Processing requisitions and expediting orders
* Managing stock levels of allocated commodities and ensure all information regarding pricing and other procurement factors are kept up to date as well as collaborating with the stock controller to ensure sufficient levels of stock supply on-site
* Supporting Tender activities and manage the tender process
* Seek to improve purchasing processes and procedures
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience within a Purchasing / Procurement / Buyer role from within the manufacturing sector will be essential
* Excellent negotiation skills and a strong commercial acumen
* An ambitious and driven nature with a natural desire to improve processes and systems
