A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking a Production Purchasing Senior Buyer to help develop and lead a new team of Buyers, providing guidance and coaching as required. This exciting role covers all aspects of automotive procurement from supplier selection, prototype parts purchasing through to production intent sourcing and ongoing supplier management. This is a truly unique opportunity to be part of embryonic team that will allow you the breadth of commodity responsibility not normally seen in the automotive industry.

Production Purchasing Senior Buyer Duties:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of a purchasing profile with focus on continuous improvement within purchasing.
Support in the building of network of reliable vendors and service providers.
Conduct research on potential products, vendors and services and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
Meet vendors to negotiate the best deal/contracts.
Monitoring inventory writing orders to refill stock
Inspecting purchased product upon delivery and reporting any issues timely.
Writing reports on purchases and performing cost analysis
Support in the set up and management of a Purchase Order System.
Assist with regular re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance evaluation with suppliers, taking corrective action as required.
Check and authorise designated invoices for stock, packaging, and carriage items. The Successful Production Purchasing Senior Buyer Will Have:

Degree qualified or have equivalent working experience, and CIPS membership
Ideally with prior automotive purchasing experience, however strong candidates from other sectors will be considered including but not limited to those of manufacturing and technology.
Strong commercial negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing a complex supplier base across a range of commodities
Demonstrate experience of cost optimised sourcing and year-on -year cost reductions.
Demonstrable ability to work through complex total landed cost equations and seek simplified solutions where possible.
Ability to lead contract management negotiations and manage the end-to-end procurement process of RFI, RFQ, comparative analysis, supplier selection and order creation across the range of vehicle systems.
Ability and willing to coach less experienced members of the procurement team.
Excellent leadership, mentoring and people management skills.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
