Senior Buyer
Our client, a leader in their field of mechanical assemblies and niche parts distribution located in South Northamptonshire, is seeking a *** Senior Buyer *** (ideally CIPS qualified) to join their team.
With many years' experience behind them, our client is seeking a high-calibre Buyer who can ultimately develop existing and new supplier relationships, leading to competitive sourcing and consistent supply of component parts, ancillaries and equipment.
This strategic role will also involve:
* Further development of a framework to ensure transparency in pricing throughout the entire organization with controls to highlight exceptions.
* Control and development of stock measures to ensure appropriate levels are maintained to maximise service and minimise financial exposure.
* Play a significant role in price setting and margin management.
Specifics for the Senior Buyer vacancy:
* Negotiate supply agreements for each OEM brand that ensures margin maintenance and a competitive market position.
* Source non-OEM products where appropriate or required.
* Reference all new products or replacement products to technical department to ensure level and consistency of quality.
* Benchmark cost prices with industry sources develop primary and secondary supply routes for spares wherever possible.
* Provide a framework for purchasing, setting price lists, maintaining margins and for measurement of business performance
* Using company systems to set, monitor and control optimum stock levels to ensure customer service is maintained whilst avoiding stock obsolescence.
* Develop control reports to highlight margin exceptions and stock levels controls.
* Implement system controls to ensure goods are ordered at the correct time.
* Working with the existing buyer, place orders as required.
* Play a role in overall business strategy development.
* Contribute towards the redesign and maintenance of the company website.
* Play a role in marketing strategy and development of initiatives & promotions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to reformulate structure and assist in the commercial growth of an already established and successful business.
Applicants will ideally be CIPS qualified, salary offered will be dependent on experience
