Role: Engineering Buyer - Oil & Gas

Based: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Salary: Up to GBP40000 basic DOE, bonus & benefits

Our client is a market-leading manufacturer and supplier of environmental protection and safety products for fluid transfer operations within the Oil and Gas industry. Their world class products have become an industry standard with a reputation for quality and reliability.

These are exciting times and as part of their ambitious growth plan they are looking to hire an Engineering Buyer to ensure they secure quality suppliers of materials, goods, and services in a timely, cost effective manner to meet production output and customer demand requirements.

What you'll do

* Procure materials, goods, and services for production requirements in line with quality, price & delivery targets via MRP.

* Carry out analysis of spend to determine potential strategies and mitigate risk.

* Prepare and implement commodity strategy to develop existing supplier relationships, manage risk and ensure the provision of a stable and reliable supply chain.

* Negotiate and prepare master supply agreements with key suppliers.

* Carry out periodic review meetings with key suppliers and undertake continuous cost down activities.

* Develop close working relationships with other departments to improve communications and the overall performance of the company.

* Prepare detailed quotations for intercompany assemblies.

* Play an active role in the new product development process to ensure successful integration of new products.

* Attend daily production meetings and action any purchasing requirements.

* To undertake any reasonable task required of the individual, given sufficient training and instruction.

You will need

* Proven Purchasing experience, preferably in an engineering environment

* Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards

* Experience with MRP systems, Winman preferred

* Experience with cost reduction initiatives

* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering processes

* Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Keen attention to detail and accuracy

* Based in Great Yarmouth you'll need to be willing travel around the country & overseas on occasions
