Our client is a leading wholesaler and exporter in based in North London. The £50M+ turnover company operates across multiple channels in Wholesale, International Trade, Retail and E-Commerce and it is well established, has a strong track record of robust growth and has been recognised in the industry for outstanding performances with multiple awards. It now requires an experienced Head of Buying to develop the business further and maximise the profitability.
Role:
You will be responsible for leading the team of buyers, developing the product categories, ensuring smooth supply to meet demand and maintaining competitiveness in the market whilst improving the sales and profitability through developing effective supplier relationships. Deal hunting and trading form a key part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leading, managing and developing the buying team.
· Managing the trading performance of the company, including maximising sales, margin, profit and product availability.
· Leading negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best deals to maximise market leading prices, over-riders, promotional rebates, listing and marketing fees and agree supplier partnerships through JBPs to support the company’s growth plans.
· Maintaining robust systems to ensure maximum revenues achieved from supplier agreements and income targets are met.
· Developing strong effective relationships with suppliers, customers and other stake holders.
· Developing and executing the pricing strategy and full category promotional activities to maintain the competitive edge.
· Developing the product categories and range to cater for changing market trends and diversify into new markets.
· Monitoring and evaluating performance against budget including sales and profits.
· Trading and deal hunting.
