A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer/Expeditor to join the Procurement team at a successful business who supply a vast range of products and services to UK companies across all industries.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities; ensuring stock is readily available and monitoring supplier performance.

Key Tasks:

Manage and expedite purchase orders with Suppliers in line with departmental objectives
Identify priority orders and liaise with suppliers to expedite
Maximise impact on customer experience by achieving targets
Manage risk and impact on product availability
Update Inventory Management System (IMS) accordingly
Manage risk of discontinuation and obsolescence
Identify any issues and liaise with Category Managers / Suppliers to resolve
Communicate regularly by phone/video/email and build strong relationships with suppliers
Strive to continuously improve service levels
Go beyond standard reporting of metrics

Requirements:

Experience of Buying/Expediting in a fast-moving B2B environment with a large number of SKU's
Experience gained in wholesale, distribution, retail, manufacturing or similar
Commercially astute
Good IT skills with experience of using an ERP/IMS system
Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
Pro-active approach to work, thinks outside the box
Problem solver
