Buyer

We have a very exciting opportunity available for a Buyer to join us based near Rugby. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum dependent on experience.

Optera are in the business of delivering high quality building repairs, with specific areas of expertise. We specialise in large and complex structural repairs primarily within the insurance sector.

Responsibilities of our Buyer will include:

• Buying construction materials and plant for specific projects Nationwide
• Ensuring that plant and materials are procured ready for a day 1 start on jobs
• Negotiating with suppliers to obtain best value, payment terms and rebates
• Liaising with Contracts Managers and Lead Trades to ensure all materials and plant are delivered to site on time and in full
• Providing support with the pricing and sourcing of unusual or complex items
• Building strong relationships with reliable suppliers and managing any supplier issues,
• Negotiating best value with suppliers
• Resolving queries with purchase invoices flagged from the accounts team
• Maintaining a register of plant on sites to ensure that trades are returning items promptly
• Ensuring any stock items are ready for collection by tradespeople, when necessary
• Overseeing stock, yard management and general good inwards
• Carrying out checks on trade vans weekly

What we're looking for in ourBuyer:

• Experience in construction is essential
• An ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, to foster positive and constructive working relationships
• An ability to plan and prioritise workload using high levels of initiative
• An ability to work to deadlines
• An ability to communicate effectively internally, with managers and tradespeople
