Role: National Buying Manager (Plastics & Packaging Manager)
Salary: GBP54,285 rising to GBP79,040
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: 08:00 - 18:00

Role Overview:
A position is available for a National Corporate Responsibility Manager within ALDI's Plastics & Packaging team. The role will require an excellent understanding of existing and future packaging legislation, the UK recycling infrastructure and packaging requirements for food and non-food. This will include analysis and reporting of packaging data for internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of or experience working in a packaging related role for both food and non-food packaging is crucial.

Key responsibilities:
• Supporting the Buying Department to deliver ALDI's Plastics & Packaging pledges
• Preparation of papers and presentations for senior management
• Working with key stakeholders to deliver accurate packaging reports
• Engagement of the Buying Department to deliver training on new topics

• Ability to understand and communicate complex information
• Excellent presentation and training skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to work simultaneously across multiple projects
• Knowledge and understanding of existing and upcoming packaging legislation
• Knowledge and understanding of the UK & Irish recycling infrastructure

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
• 2:1 degree
• Experience working in a packaging or packaging data related role
• Packaging experience
• Packaging legislation experience
• Sustainability experience

• Project management skills
• Stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:
• Degree in an environmental sustainability related topic
• Experience working in a packaging or packaging data related role for a food retailer
• Experience engaging with NGO's
• Food retail experience
• Presentation/training skills
