Bidfood is a leading wholesale food distributor and the preferred supplier for many customers across the UK, ranging from pubs to schools, from restaurants to care homes and everything in between.
Group Commercial is a core central function within Bidfood, responsible for maximising the long-term profitability of a specified category of products, whilst achieving budgeted income & term targets.
About the Buyer role
Your role will be to ensure that Bidfood remains highly competitive in establishing successful supplier partnerships. As Buyer you will work towards delivering the overall Group Commercial strategy & plans, which ultimately drives excellence in customer service and ensures we meet the company's overall sales & profit targets.
You will be managing supplier relationships and maximising the long-term profitability of specified categories whilst achieving your short & long-term budgeted targets. You will be a 'hands-on' self-starter and must have excellent proven influencing and negotiating skills in managing product costs and income generation as well as the ability to develop, manage and implement category plans.
About You
We are looking for a high calibre individual who is hard working, commercially astute and multi-skilled with the energy and drive to ensure purchasing strategies are well negotiated and implemented.
You must be able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and above all be able to multi-task in a timely and efficient manner.
You will also be required to demonstrate an aptitude for financial acumen in managing your budgets.
Purchasing experience is essential, preferably within the Foodservice/ Wholesale sector. A full driving licence & the willingness to travel will also help you in the role.
