Group Buyer

SF Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Group Buyer to join one of their reputable, growing business' based in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire. This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday. This is a key role for the business and will be responsible for delivering significant cost savings whilst maintaining both quality and reliability of the products / services sourced.

The ideal candidate will be undertaking a combination of strategic planning and day to day operational buying to meet the needs of the production schedule, whilst considering cost, quality and lead-time.

Day to day duties will include

Managing procurement requirements for engineering projects, services, training, and day to day operational requirements
Managing and maintaining service contracts
Identifying and engaging appropriate suppliers and effectively managing the relationships
Identifying and recording cost savings and supplier performance in line with proper quality controls
Monitoring project costs, ensuring goods and services are on budget and on time
Implementing long term agreements with suppliers where appropriate
Managing and resolving Supplier Non-Conformances
Appraising, reviewing, and managing Suppliers and Sub-contractors
Managing and reporting on yearly and half yearly stock control
Reviewing and maintaining procedures and ensuring compliance

The successful candidare for this role should have at least 2 years Procurement experience alongside global sourcing knowledge. In addition, you should have extensive knowledge of Excel, particularly the use of formulas and proven procurement experience in a purchasing or supply chain role. The role requires someone who is confident to communicate with the wider business at all levels, someone who is used to managing suppliers and someone who is a keen problem solver
