The Company:
This is your opportunity to fully utilise your sourcing, negotiating and supplier relationship management skills in this busy procurement role. This successful manufacturing company require an experience Commodity Buyer to manage a portfolio of raw materials and products from an international customer base. The role will involve some international and domestic travel.

8.30-5 Monday to Friday

This is your opportunity to fully utilise your sourcing, negotiating and supplier relationship management skills in this busy procurement role. This successful manufacturing company require an experience Commodity Buyer to manage a portfolio of raw materials and products from an international customer base. The role will involve some international and domestic travel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all direct and some indirect procurement, against a specified supplier portfolio, to support forecasted sales through Sage Inventory Advisor, ensuring cost targets are met and inventory levels managed within agreed levels
- Improving aspects of supplier delivery performance (OTIF) with actions to be developed to rectify any shortfalls
- Identification and assessment and development of highly competitive new sources, where required
- Working closely with R&D & the Engineering team to co-ordinate and drive forward NPD, including early supplier involvement, cost estimation, value engineering, process optimisation, material selection
- Effective contract development, negotiation , review and implementation
- Responsible for the expediting of all purchase orders, ensuring all delivery dates are adhered to
- Evidence of purchasing aesthetically pleasing products / components
- Proven track record of working within a new product development team
- Proven track record of purchasing services and supplies.
- Proven track record of business travel
- Knowledge of Incoterms and overseas procurement
- Ability to travel overseas independently, as required
- Practical working knowledge of design for manufacture, value engineering and product approval
- Ideally CIPS qualified with a minimum A Level standard of education
