We are proud to work with a highly reputable manufacturing business in the Norfolk area to recruit a Category Buyer to join their buying team permanently. The company is a growing manufacturer in Thetford. Working with some of the biggest retailers and own brands in the UK, making them one of the go-to businesses for all manufacturing, bottling, filling, and storage of bottled products.
This is a brand new position, however, you will be working with a Buying team with a wealth of experience, giving you the ability to pass on your knowledge but also learn at the same time. As the Category Buyer, you will be providing the Supply Chain team to help determine the stock levels against business demands while working on an effective purchasing strategy.
Duties:
Delivering an effective procurement strategy with the buying team and the head of the department
Building and maintaining business relationships with Suppliers as well as placing and expediting orders
Monitoring material prices to make sure money is saved for the business
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability and timeliness of materials for production across the siteExperience and Skills:
As a Category Manager, it would ideal to have considerable experience within a manufacturing business including food, personal care, pharmaceutical, or FMCG
Ideally, CIPS Qualified to Level 4 or above with proven purchasing experience
Excellent IT Skills
Ability to communicate with people at all levels within a business
