The Day Job:

Are you looking to kick-start a career in procurement or if you have a Procurement background, further your knowledge?

We are looking to welcome a Category Buyers into our growing team in Estates and Facilities to support several upcoming and exciting projects.

You will ideally be either a recent graduate or hold good experience working in a fast-paced administrative role.

Having a strong work ethic and a keen interest in starting your career journey in Procurement, you're a dedicated and committed team player looking to further your career in public sector procurement.

You will support a delegated category portfolio to implement strategic sourcing, support and develop stakeholder relationships, and work to strengthen relationships with existing key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations takes an active role in supporting the development of the annual work plan and implementing policy, contributing to the development of short and long-term category strategies
  • Supporting the development and cultivation of key supplier and client relationships and exploring new business opportunities
  • Supporting the uptake of the portfolios across the landscape, working alongside key support teams including Innovation, Implementation, Marketing and Consultancy
  • Managing incoming framework queries and upholding a high standard of customer services advice and doing so in a timely manner
  • Taking an active role in supporting the full cycle of the tender process, including pre-tender market engagement and analysis, drafting, and proof-reading documents, and supporting the evaluation and award process
  • Providing general support to the Category Managers, collecting, and analysing data to help predict forecasts and trends, managing and processing customer feedback as well as supporting the Team with general administrative tasks
  • Supporting the development and implementation, monitoring, and reviews of procurement strategies for allocated commodities through detailed demand/market analysis, ensuring continual improvement and innovation in service delivery


Required Skills
you need to have:

  • Previous experience in a procurement related role
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationship quickly
  • Good customer service skills and delivery focused
  • Good time management and attention to detail, planning
It would be great if you had:
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Experience and/or knowledge of working with the NHS and/or Public Sector
  • Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations/Healthcare Categories
  • Understanding of Estates and Construction procedures
