Global Procurement Manager - Meat and Poultry - FTSE100 Retailer - London - £60-65k + Package and benefits

This Global FTSE100 food and beverage retailer is looking for an ambitious and well established procurement professional to join their best-in-class and globally renowned procurement function as a Global Procurement Manager, looking after the meat and poultry category.

As a company with a multi-faceted business structure with huge spend across the food and beverage procurement space there is ample opportunity to progress through the company whether that be in an upwards trajectory or across the business to develop other areas of your procurement ability.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to work the global markets managing and training a team for junior buyers.

Responsibilities of a global procurement manager:

  • Manage key supplier relationships ensuring that quality, price and service standards are met or exceeded whilst abiding by company policies
  • Strategically implement your industry and market knowledge to improve supply price by negotiation and ensure quality opportunities and savings
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish brand development and engage with key stakeholders examining risks and aversions
  • Adapt to market changes and be aware of supply and demand of products diminishing risk and impact to the company and in turn key stakeholders

Key qualifications for a global procurement manager:

  • Significant level of experience as a category manager within the meat and poultry category- with a track record of strategic supplier management
  • Knowledge of the food industry and key requirements for food safety and quality
  • Clear communication and good interpersonal skills
  • Degree from world renowned university, along with good level of IT and numeracy skills
  • CIPS (desirable)
