Buyer

A Buyer with a proven track record of being able to meet the duties and responsibilities listed in the advert.

This opportunity would be particularly suitable for someone who has gained Buyer experience within an Engineering or Technical environment.

The ideal candidate will have gained experience of working within a procurement team and managing supplier performance as well as working well with other departments and key stakeholders.

Duties include:
*Evaluate bids and general proposals for the supply of products and services
*Tender/RFQ generation and evaluation through to contract awarding, ensuring best practice is adhered to
*Engage is supplier optimisation, reducing the supplier base to optimum levels whilst analysing the risks, achieving savings and maintaining/improving quality standards
*Maintain supplier on-boarding and assessment procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and group standards, ensuring continual improvement in service levels and commercial terms
*Assist in the development and training of Procurement team
*Promote good interdepartmental communication and company values
*Work closely with R&D & Production departments to ensure products and projects are delivered, to specification, within agreed deadlines

The successful candidate will be motivated, experienced & commercially aware with effective negotiation skills, with the ability to problem solve and decision make. You will also have an understanding of contract terms, tendering and understanding currency and commodities, with the ability to be a team player, proactive, energetic with the ability to deliver 'continuous improvement' in all aspects of the role.

Competitive Salary; GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 depending experience. plus additional benefits.
