Customs Compliance Team Lead

We have a fantastic new opportunity with a client within the Defence industry who are looking for an experienced Customs Compliance Team Lead to join their fast moving Logistics department

Key responsibilities:

• Running a bonded warehouse and IPR/OPR procedures
• Consolidating and controlling all customs entries
• Collaborating with the supplier/customer
• Managing several projects at once
• Import and Export products to both Europe and the rest of the world
• Liaising and working closely with export control team, shipping team, local customs officers and freight forwarders
• Working as part of a new management team to contribute towards shaping the team, department and processes with the aim of becoming a high performing customs team

The Ideal candidate:

• Detailed knowledge of UK Customs entries (IPR/ OPR and customs warehousing)
• Import / Export legislation and processes
• Ability to adapt style of communication to ensure effective delivery of service to internal and external Customers.
• Strength of character not to deviate from process when other demands appear.
• Knowledge and experience to contribute towards the transformation of bringing customs clearances in-house
