An award-winning sustainable supplies company is looking to recruit its first-ever Procurement Manager.

Having witnessed exponential growth from its beginning, it now needs an individual to join this journey and ambitions to double in size over the next five years.

The company is a pioneer in sustainability supplying construction materials made from recycled sources.

Partnered with the Rainforest Trust it donates 10% of profits earned and its mission is to reduce the carbon footprint of the construction industry.

As Procurement Manager you will work closely with the operations and sales team and report to the Finance Director, having full ownership over the supply chain.

You will lead the procurement function in driving cost savings and efficiencies from their growing supply list.

The Procurement Manager role is open to candidates from all industries and would ideally suit someone who has had experience in purchasing direct materials in the past.

As Procurement Manager your responsibilities will entail:

  • Full ownership of stock management, including holding levels, forecasting & buffer management
  • The management and ordering of all stock from third parties, raising Stock Purchase Orders & maintaining in ERP
  • Forecast and predict stock at SKU level based on historic data and predicted sales demands, modifying weekly based on actual vs forecast
  • Monitor stock levels, manufacturing, and shipping lead times to minimise stock outs
  • Monitor and manage the performance of all suppliers
  • Point of contact and develop a relationship with all suppliers (UK, EU, China, India) to lead & drive improvements to ensure manufacture and delivery are timely
  • Ownership & negotiations of all purchasing agreements – including delivery terms & payment terms
  • Understand, minimise and work with sales teams to manage slow moving stock
  • Communicate potential quality, supplier and logistic risks in the market as they arise
  • Ownership of new products go live and ensuring correct purchase levels
  • Supplier stock discrepancy & issues, ensure stock accuracy for Inbound
  • Present periodic cost reviews & initiatives to drive supply chain efficiencies
  • Constantly reviewing and improving processes to ensure effective planning

Skills and experience required for this role:

  • Preferably studying towards CIPS level 4
  • Experience with international suppliers
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven background in the procurement and planning sector
  • Demonstrate achievements in cost down initiatives (including cost improvements, product quality & lead time reductions)
  • Strong Excel skills & knowledge of ERP systems
  • Well organised with good attention to detail
