Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading defence organisation, BAE Systems to recruit an On-Site Contracts Manager to be based out of their site in Glascoed for an initial 5 month contract. As the role has been deemed Inside IR35, payment of £25.11 Per hour will be made via an Umbrella Company. A PAYE option is also available

Job Description
Contracts Engineer - will work within the contractor management team responsible for the estates maintenance and new works of theGlascoed site. Ensuring that the site infrastructure assets are managed in accordance with operational requirements and health and safety obligations.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and co-ordinating contractors visiting site
- Oversight of contractor health and Safety obligations and ensure that site rules, H&S legislation, policies and recommendations are adhered to all times
- Support to the asset management team in maintaining and replacement of key site assets.
- Scope, management, financial control, administration and maintenance of buildings and estates grounds
- Monitor the performance of regular routine contractors and facilities management providers
- Organise, tender and oversee reactive maintenance, major repairs and routine contracts, with the support of the facilities team as appropriate.
- Undertake preventative maintenance measures
- Ensuring that appropriate assessments have been undertaken and actioned appropriately, these include but are not limited to Asbestos Survey, Scaffolding inspections, H&S, Lift inspections etc…
- Ensuring site waste / recycling disposal
- Management of ongoing maintenance contracts
Additional Information
Essential:
- Background in building and estates maintenance
- Working within a team
- Practised experience in relation to Health and Safety
- Contractor management experience
- Strong communication skills
- H&S member i.e. IOSH/SMSTS
- HNC/HND in related area
Desirable:
- Environmental background i.e. IEMA
- Working in a defence related industry background
- Experience working with electrical and mechanical disciplines
