Make your mark on the efficiency of a fast-growing organisation
About us
The Government Property Agency (GPA) delivers property and workplace solutions across government. We are introducing a portfolio-led approach to managing central government’s general-purpose property as a strategic asset – and reshaping the relationship civil servants have with their place of work. As we grow and develop, we will create more efficient and effective use of the government estate.
The challenge
Established in 2018, The GPA is expected to grow exponentially over the next few years. You will have a pivotal role to play. We’ll look to you to enable a strategic network of warehouses and operational support centres to be implemented across the UK.
You will lead on the communication, evaluation and implementation of a varied portfolio. Drawing on your specialist logistics experience, you will deliver strategies to make government storage facilities and networks more efficient. Analysing storage and distribution networks, you'll identify opportunities to enhance value for money while fulfilling business needs. Working with government departments and third party logistics suppliers, you’ll identify optimal levels of service. In collaboration with the Strategy Lead, you’ll innovate and optimise the warehouse portfolio. You will also personally oversee the creation of a warehouse management system.
About you
You will bring to the role a track record of creating successful storage, distribution and logistics strategies. We’ll expect you to be familiar with third party service solutions and standard logistics software. Equally skilled in analysis, problem solving and organisation, you are as effective working independently and as part of a team. The ability to handle multiple projects is essential.
Apply
Closing date: 11:55 pm on Sunday 8th August 2021.
