As an experienced Supply Chain Director, these words may fill you with horror or excitement. If it's the former, then there's no point in you reading any further. Sorry, but that's the reality.
Because we're looking for the latter. Someone who relishes the idea of creating a complete and robust supply chain practically from scratch.
Our client is a division within a market-leading group of companies with a £100m turnover and around 14,000 SKUs. They're incredibly successful but know they need a total overhaul of their supply chain and procurement strategies to improve their business.
That's where you come in.
Possibly from an automotive, FMCG, global retail or wholesaling background, you'll be able to use your experience in managing a international supply chain to full effect. Our client's products are designed in the UK then 95% of them are manufactured in China. As such, you will need experience in managing the supply of parts and products from Asia.
More than anything, they need structure and strategy. The critical issues you'll need to focus on, are creating a formal S&OP team, establishing a World-Class strategic procurement function, and creating KPIs like OTIF to ensure next-day order fulfilment. Alongside overhauling the procurement function, you'll also need to review the cost-effectiveness of the current freight and logistics model.
It really is a blank canvas for you to paint your masterpiece.
