This multinational firm who are market leaders in the development of new technology and aerospace solutions are looking for a junior Procurement Specialist to join their growing sourcing function at the company's head office.

Working as part of a specialist and dynamic team, the successful individual will have the chance to work on some of the most cutting-edge scientific and technological innovations within the aerospace, cyber and defence arenas. They will have exposure to the full end to end procurement process, working with critical suppliers to negotiate the best possible terms, and partnering with engineering teams to establish requirements.

This role is for someone ambitious who wishes to progress quickly within a large organisation and is passionate about a career within procurement.

The key responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist role are:

  • Building and mentioning relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing decision making at all levels and ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment
  • Contributing to the RFQ process, utilising negotiation skills to ensure robust and cost-effective contractual arrangements with suppliers
  • Managing the overall supply chain of materials and services, including obtaining quotes and expediting orders
  • Assist in the development of procurement and sourcing strategy across multiple projects, whilst also monitoring associated risks and continuously improving performance
  • Produce timely and accurate reports of procurement requirements, supplier performance and effectively communicate with senior management

The requirements for this role are:

  • 1+ years procurement experience, such as a buyer, ideally within a technical environment such as manufacturing, engineering, aerospace/defence, or other regulated industries
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes and procedures
  • CIPS qualified or working towards is desirable, but a strong academic record is essential
  • Full unrestricted right to work in the UK, including eligibility for security clearance which may be required
