Shipping & Logistics Co-ordinator

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Shipping & Logistics Co-ordinator for a £mm international lifestyle FMCG business selling into the UK's Retail sector… 

We are currently partnering with a leading international supplier of outdoor living goods, that has experienced a rapid increase in revenue and organisational operations over the last 2 years. 

Due to this, they are now seeking an experienced Shipping & Logistics Co-ordinator to co-ordinate the inbound supply chain into their various distribution centres across the UK. 

You will have current experience of working in a fast paced and supply/shipping environment. A thorough understanding of end to end international shipping and freight logistics is essential i.e. knowledge of incoterms and management of shipping companies, freight forwarders etc. 

Reporting into the Domestic Supply Chain Manager, the Shipping & Logistics Co-ordinator will be responsible for: 

• Daily contact with foreign suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure on time shipments; updating the systems to provide accurate stock availability information to the sales team.

• Arranging import documentation, coordinating container deliveries and receipt of stock; checking and processing corresponding invoices.

• Updating buying plans and forecasts based on weekly sales trends.

• Interpreting Buying plans and reacting to sales trends – planning and amending orders as required.

• Creating product codes and categories on the database.

• Producing label templates and proofs for approval with suppliers, managing stock holding at overseas printers.

• Using in-house reporting systems to plan future buying strategies with the Product Development and Marketing team.

• Preparing product cost calculations to aid decisions on potential new products.

• Assisting with business-wide special projects and priority tasks as needed.
