This is an exciting opportunity to join a global business as Head of Indirect procurement. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the Indirect and Commercial Services procurement strategies across Europe with a focus on delivering a world class services portfolio designed to reduce costs, maximise value and minimise risk across c£50-75m annual spend.

The Head of Indirect Procurement will lead senior level relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, as well as developing a high performing team to deliver an efficient sourcing capability across the indirect spend portfolio. Continuous improvement and development of the existing procurement strategy, framework and processes is also a critical function of this role.

Ideally we are seeking either French or German language skills and this needs to be someone who has strong commercial and strategic initiative who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and motivating the growing procurement function into a best in class procurement team developing innovative solutions that meet and exceed business needs
  • Driving the category management and sourcing strategy to ensure value for money can be demonstrated both internally and externally
  • Working on a wide range of procurement projects across multiple direct and indirect categories and developing long term category strategies
  • Putting best practice procurement processes (Cat Man and SRM) in place in a multinational environment by bringing procurement expertise to the table
  • Working on the full end to end procurement life cycle and managing key business stakeholders & complex procurement accounts within a restrictive timeframe

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience of managing successful teams across multiple procurement categories
  • Hands on experience of category management and proven responsibility of managing a large spend
  • Proven track record in building high performing teams
  • Passion and experience in creating and managing strong sustaining relationships, within a multinational environment, with senior stakeholders
  • Capable of designing and implementing sourcing strategy in a complex business environment
  • Ability to design and implement appropriate procurement processes, procedures and performance measures
  • Indirect category expertise is desired but not essential
  • Degree qualified
  • Possess a dynamic/forward thinking approach to procurement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced procurement function whilst also leading a team of procurement professionals
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • A broad and varied blend of operational and commercial skills with an entrepreneurial approach 
  • English language required, French or German highly desirable
