The Head of Operations Role:

The Head of Operations is a newly created role due to ambitious growth plans, with the role-holder playing a key role in the leadership team and the direction of the business.

Working alongside the Managing Director, Head of Commercial & Marketing and Head of Finance you'll assume responsibility for:

+ Production, Quality, Materials Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Planning.
+ Delivering Operational targets and KPI’s
+ In conjunction with the Quality and Manufacturing manager, develop Total Quality Mgt systems to achieve world class production capability.
+ Develop health and safety systems to provide a safe and healthy work environment
+ Develop Human Resource management to realise the full potential of the entire operations team.
+ Develop and integrate various functional departments using metrics and key performance indicators (KPI’s) as the enabler. This includes the integration of logistics and supply chain solutions.

About You:

+ Degree in Production/Operations/Engineering/Science (min education requirement)
+ Formal management training in TQM / LEAN / TOC (Theory of Constraints)
+ Operations/Manufacturing or Supply Chain Manager for a Medium to large food/Dairy business.
+ Food or Dairy Manufacturing plus some logistics background.
+ Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead Teams, develop people.
+ Be competent in managing by metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
+ Trained in & Implemented process improvement/transformation project in last 5 years
+ Implemented New BMS / ERP / Demand & Supply Planning systems in the last 5 years.
+ Have a competency in Business Management Systems – implementation/change management
+ Ability to both lead operations function and play an active role (Strategic Ownership etc) as part of the Leadership team
+ Demonstrable understanding of the importance of quality and its implications with regard to product
