Procurement Manager opportunity for a highly successful and innovative technology company. This is a marvelous opportunity for a knowledgeable and confident Procurement Manager with Mechanical Handling Equipment experience to make a difference in a dynamic and global technology organisation.  Key to your success in this role will be your ability develop and build strong relationships with suppliers, so you will need significant previous experience in a high tech procurement role. You will need to be able to report confidently to the Board of Subsidiaries and Finance Director.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROCUREMENT MANAGER ROLE:
The Procurement function is an essential function which supports all internal processes from sales to project management, accounting and customer service. Building up a strong relationship and the development of suppliers is one of the success factors of this role.

 

PROCUREMENT MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of the Supplier market
  • Responsible for the results of local procurement strategies within the subsidiaries, in accordance with the Lead Buyer
  • To ensure the supply and a sustainable risk management, in accordance with the Lead Buyer
  • Responsible for technical clarification in collaboration with Engineering and Planning Department
  • The efficient fulfilment of the requirements of internal customers
  • To establish Supplier Relationship Management and ensure Supplier development (cost, quality, innovation, risk management)
  • Analysis of the supplier market and sourcing activities
  • To offer support in the sales process for short term price demands (budget price)
  • To execute supplier enquiries and price comparisons (RFI, RFQ)
  • Select and qualify new suppliers with support from Global Procurement & Sourcing, responsible for local supplier ratings and supplier development
  • To be responsible for communication to current suppliers and local representatives of the suppliers
  • Standardisation of terms, conditions and contracts with suppliers
  •  Preparation and execution of negotiations (Contract Management)
  • Purchase Order Processing incl. contracts and order confirmation
  • Collaboration and support in tracking of deliveries and current project progress
  •  Claim management - to negotiate claims with suppliers
  • Tracking of commodity market changes
  •  To perform regular analysis and reporting

 

PROCUREMENT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience in the field of Procurement - Mechanical Handling Equipment
  • Be able to confidently report to the Board of Subsidiaries and Finance Director
  • Commercial and technical knowledge and education
  • Legal awareness regarding capital contracts and working knowledge of MF1, NEC and FIDIC contracts

 

PROCUREMENT MANAGER PROFILE: 

  •  Advanced organisational skills
  • Efficient and solution orientated
  • Ability to act based on facts and to make decisions even in unstructured and uncertain situations
  • Positive, constructive and self-confident
  • Ability to analyse failures and problems and to develop possible solutions
  • Ability to criticize openly based on facts and on the other hand accept criticism to develop and improve personally
  • Willingness to improve and extend personal skills and knowledge to be prepared for future challenges and tasks
  • Experience with ISO accreditation (9001, 14001) would be an advantage

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Advanced knowledge of lT-tools for procurement
  • Advanced business English skills
  • German speaking desirable
