About The Role

CBS buys over £150 million worth of goods and services every year and we want to make sure this is done in a way which is compliant and true to our values. We are on an ambitious journey to better dimension supplier risk and ensure our sourcing activity reflects our values.  

In this role you’ll have overall responsibility for ensuring CBS identifies, sources and manages suppliers in line with relevant regulatory requirements. The role is strategic in its breadth and requires the creation and oversight of processes to ensure suppliers are onboarded, managed and audited in line with relevant requirements.

You’ll be creating the third party risk processes and leading the team responsible for onboarding suppliers and assessing risk.

You’ll also lead the insights practice area to provide first class actionable insights on the activity of the procurement function. You’ll own the key policies maintained by CBS with relevance in this area and be responsible for risk reporting and the accurate maintenance of registers required under regulation.   

You’ll have responsibility for ensuring delivery and governance of this area across the Society and will enable and influence decision making through accurate, consistent and timely Executive and Senior Management information, planning and reporting. You may be required to engage with regulatory bodies on behalf of the organisation.    

As a senior member of the Society’s procurement function, you’ll be required to take a leading role in relation to broader departmental level activities, including the identification, reporting and mitigation of third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
About You

You'll have extensive experience in a relevantdiscipline, such as legal, compliance, operational risk or internal audit,ideally gained in financial services. You'll be familiar with key legal andregulatory concepts in this area, including SYSC, EBA outsourcing guidelines,Operational Continuity in Resolution and Modern Slavery Act.

You'll also be an effective people manager and be adept atmentoring and training members of your team. You’ll have a clear appetite forprocess improvement and be adept at turning different regulatory standards intoregulatory processes. You must be able to develop an excellent understanding ofthe Society’s supply chain and its wider business strategy.
