IT Procurement Manager - Software & Hardware Spend - Global Technology & Defence Firm - Surrey - £45k - £50k + Package - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Due to consistent annual growth, a fantastic opportunity has been made available for a driven and experienced IT Procurement professional to join this market-leading engineering technology firm as their Procurement Category Manager, focusing on a wide range of IT subcategories and working out of their global Surrey HQ.

The successful Procurement Category Manager will oversee a large spends and will be given full autonomy to conduct strategies within the IT Procurement category and ensure the business is always developing. You will be tasked with working cross functionally in a business partner capacity with the wider IT Operations team to delivery significant cost savings across the group.

As an IT Procurement Manager you will:

  • Manage and influencing key senior internal stakeholders both within the procurement function and commercial functions to ensure the efficient running of your category, responsible for sourcing, tendering and management of software solutions.
  • Manage spend across IT Procurement sub-categories including but not limited to: Software. Hardware & Telecoms
  • Competently manage several vital supplier relationships, taking a lead on complex negotiations and long-term strategic goals.
  • Drive a culture of quality within the category, ensuring that the companies strategic and commercial requirements are being met.
  • Responsible for owning strategic planning, compliance, and revenue management. Whilst ensuring to keep up with rapid change as it happens within the wider business.

Key Skills & Experience Sought:

  • A strong background with IT Procurement, with the ability to hit the ground running whilst interacting with internal and external stakeholder groups across software & hardware spend
  • Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
  • History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
  • Good communication skills with past experience managing difficult supplier and stakeholder relationships
