Sourcing Manager - Professional Services

Working as part of a global team, this role is to lead and support sourcing activities for the Professional Services Sourcing team. As Sourcing Manager, you will help bring outside skills, data and expertise into the company to help our client grow and compete. Key areas of responsibility include the sourcing and category management of Professional Services related to Consulting, Financial Services, Content Services and Legal Services.

Category management

• Develop and implement the category strategy through knowledge and experience of stakeholders, projects and suppliers
• Analyse data and develop insights from the team’s spend categories, suppliers and industries to inform the commercial strategies
• Design and implement commercial frameworks that promote data-driven decisions
• Support negotiation strategies for the spend categories and strategic initiatives
• Supplier market research, analysis and networking

Business partnership

• Create and foster relationships with business leaders across both customer-facing teams such as Product and operational teams such as Content and Technology
• Provide advice and effective input to shape business goals and plans
• Align current and planned sourcing strategies with business objectives
• Create value for the business through third party knowledge and services
• Communicate value proposition and the value that has been created to key stakeholders and senior management

Strategic sourcing

• Support business outcomes by leading or advising on the strategic sourcing process – developing solutions, scoping and defining requirements, identifying best in class suppliers, managing the selection process (including RFx and e-sourcing), negotiating with suppliers, contracting the deal and overseeing the lifecycle of the relationship
• Proactively monitor supplier competencies and competitive positioning to inform sourcing decisions

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Ability to influence – articulate the vision, build trust in relationships, data-driven, strong negotiator
• Deal with complexity – connects the detail with the "big picture", understands dependencies, anticipates the future
• Robust commercial capability – able to organize and process commercial information to make apples to oranges comparisons and identify opportunities
• Open and collaborative – brings new ideas and practices, uses collaborative approaches, team first attitude
• Any experience of working with the 'Big 4'
