One of the UK's biggest and most well-known FMCG manufacturer and distributer is looking for a procurement expert to join the company in this exciting greenfield role. This role would suit a seasoned procurement professional with indirect procurement and logistics experience looking to take the next step in the right direction for their career and take on significant responsibility for setting the strategic direction of a brand new category.

The roles responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Establish and implement the strategic direction of this new category, liaising with members of the wider indirect procurement team, supply chain teams and third parties to ensure procurement are adding value and contributing to the bigger picture
• Conducting reviews on the logistics category to ensure best possible savings are being made, budgets are being met and risk is being competently managed
• Act as the procurement category expert, working with senior stakeholders to manage commodity pricing, lead negotiations with suppliers and managing strategic relationships

The criteria for applicants applying for this role is:

• Significant experience of end to end procurement covering indirect categories, including logistics and 3PL suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of all aspects of the procurement process and category management, including supplier management, negotiations, contractual law, tendering and project management
• Strong academic track record, MCIPS qualified
