Greenwellgleeson are excited to exclusively bring to market a truly unique opportunity with a unique business and setting.

Working for a prestigious and successful prep school based in Shrewsbury, you will be the Director of Finance & Operations for the school.

You will have the opportunity to shape the finance function and in turn, manage all aspects of the school which do not directly fall under the education banner.

Specific duties will include:

  • Full and active member of the Senior Management Team

  • Advising on the Strategic Development Plan

  • Providing Advice to Head and Governors

  • Preparation of short & long term financial planning

  • Monitoring on regular performance

  • Financial reporting to parent corporation

  • Preparation of annual financial accounts & statutory returns

  • Financial and Treasury Control

  • Issuing of pupil bills and collection of all fees and extras

  • Debtor recovery

  • Payment of salaries and wages

  • Operating an effective means testing system on applicants for burasaries

  • Company secretarial duties

  • Clerk to Governing Council

  • Line Manager for all support staff including: Accounts Manager, Estates and Ground Manager

  • Risk Assessments

  • Ensuring all areas of legal compliance

  • Overall Supervision of major and minor projects

Skills, Qualifications, Requirements

  • Fully Qualified ACA/ ACCA/ ACMA

  • Strong financial experience

  • Strong stakeholder management

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Hands on nature and willing to commit to a broad role
