Overview:

This well-known Healthcare organisation is looking for a new Procurement Manager to oversee all Procurement spend, and manage a small team for an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

Reporting straight to the exec, this role will give you the autonomy to work across a wide portfolio of categories including HR, Marketing, Professional Services and FM and oversee Procurement activity across the business.

You’ll be based in Reading, encouraged to work flexibly, and in keeping with the organisation’s people centric values you’ll be tasked with ensuring the continued business partnering approach that Procurement has adopted.

What the role involves

  1. Managing a multi-million-pound portfolio of spend across all Indirect Services across the UK. Contract values will range from £100k to multi-million pounds, with key suppliers for the business.
  2. Shaping and executing a range of sourcing strategies across Indirect spend and collaborating with key internal stakeholders in the business.
  3. Interaction with the wider Exec Team, feeling empowered to make critical commercial decisions as part of the short, medium- and long-term strategy of the business.
  4. Manage a small team ensuring Procurement continues to be on the company agenda and raising its profile across the business.

The person we hope to find:

  1. Indirect category management experience is essential for this role.
  2. Strong stakeholder management is a must.
  3. Proven experience of managing a broad range of category areas.
  4. The ability to make key strategic decisions on the supplier base you are engaged with.
  5. Degree educated or equivalent would be preferable but is not essential.
  6. Be able to identify and implement negotiation strategies through a multi-function team.
