My client a globally recognised business is looking to recruit a Buyer to join their Procurement department and support in the identification, sourcing and purchasing of all goods and services for the business.
Job Title: Buyer
Salary: £20,000 - £25,000
Location: Blyth, Tyne and Wear
Work closely with technical engineering & operational teams to make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the business, through the effective purchase and supply of goods & services to meet specific business requirements.
Responsible for the identification, sourcing and purchase of all goods and services in keeping with the business procedures. To deliver best value through the procurement processes and for being the main point of reference within the business on all matters concerning the supply of these goods and services.
Offer valued support, regulation & experience to the business to ensure best value is achieved for the Company and its customers through:
- Driving Procurement Process and Procedure within the technical organisation
- Cost and lead-time reduction
- Negotiation, low cost sourcing, value engineering
- Best working practices & Continuous improvement
- Vendor reduction/identification
- Sourcing solutions
- Establishment of key vendor relationships
- Understanding of engineering drawings & specifications, preparation of technical RFQs and purchase documentation.
- Possess an understanding of technical requirements and an ability to facilitate technical discussions between internal customers and external suppliers.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and management of the business key term framework agreements.
Qualifications
- Minimum GSCE Grade C in Maths and English
- Relevant further education to A-Level / NVQ Level 3 desirable
- Working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply
