A global automotive First tier supplier is currently looking to recruit a Senior Buyer.
As Senior Buyer you will be charged with supporting the purchasing strategy through the cost effective procurement of a specific commodity group.
Responsibilities:
*Manage the sourcing at optimum cost of a range of specified family groups (commodities)
*Negotiate with suppliers, in order to develop lower cost opportunities, agree amendments to purchase orders and supply contracts, seeking develop cost reduction opportunities through on-going market research
*Participate in VA/VE and Lean Manufacturing workshop activity with the preferred supply base as directed and provide timely and accurate data to purchasing management to enable tracking of agreed commodity costs
The Commodity Buyer will be expected to reduce commodity cost reduction targets against specific KPI’s and sourcing new parts to the agreed cost and timing.
Ideally candidates will be CIPS qualified with excellent understanding of automotive supply market place, preferably 1st Tier Automotive Procurement.
You should have sound understanding of NPI process and Product Life Cycle once in series production.
Applicants should also have proven experience of negotiation, with the ability to apply various problem solving techniques in order to gain a desired outcome
High level IT skilsl are required, knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
