Job Details

A unique opportunity has arisen for a well know brand in London that is going through an exciting procurement change and as a result are looking to hire a new Head of Procurement. This role will take full end to end ownership of all the category strategy while managing a small Procurement team with the role reporting into the CFO.

This organisation has lots of brands working under the central function and so its important to try and get some synergy across the business with some exciting projects in 2020.

While Procurement is mandated within the function it is often seen as a purely transactional function, so your role is to ensure it is seen as a strategic business partner adding real value to the wider business and being proactive to the stakeholder groups.

What the role involves

  1. Overseeing all Procurement activity across the function.
  2. Responsible for defining and executing the Procurement road map across the business.
  3. Managing a small Procurement Team in the delivery of the Procurement strategy.
  4. Report to the Finance Director you have the chance to interact with the wider exec team in making critical commercial decisions and having a seat at the table for key strategic commercial decisions within the function.
  5. Pro active in going out to the wider exec pro-actively to ensure Procurement is acting as a business partner and to be seen as a commercial hub of the business while maintaining good governance.
  6. There will be some travel involved to different sites within the UK to meet various stakeholder groups.

The person we hope to find

  1. Proven team leadership experience.
  2.  A broad range of category management skills is required.
  3. Ability to interact and influence senior board level stakeholders.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and be a self-starter is critical.
  5. Be able to identify and implement negotiation strategies through a multi-function team.
  6. Ideally been able to lead change in a Procurement setting.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Procurement Leader who is looking for a new challenge in a business going through positive change. This is a chance to mould your own team while working closely with the wider exec in ensuring that Procurement is being managed in the right way by commercially leveraging from supplier relationships and looking at ways to drive cost and increase performance within the function.
