Position: Supply Chain Manager

Location: London

We are currently recruiting for an experience Supply Chain Manager to take the lead on all the procurement activities across one of the UK's most forward-thinking residential developers, who have received significant investment from several renowned property magnates. The utilise a pioneering approach to construction, energy generation to deliver sustainable, affordable and scalable solution to the housing crisis globally. The have recently completed their first development in the UK, with several other already in the pipeline, including projects across Africa, Scandinavia and USA. Their products are built using modern methods of construction and they currently have two facilities in the UK capable of producing up to 6,000 homes a year.

This will initially be a standalone role with the potential to develop into a leadership role and build a team to support the future growth of the business.

Responsibilities include:

You will be responsible for sourcing all direct and indirect services and products from construction and professional services contracts (architects, legal, planning, etc) to fixtures and fittings for the developments. As this is a new position within the group, there will also be an element of implementing new systems and processes to support future success from a strategic point.

- Negotiating prices

- Weighing up tenders from potential suppliers

- Agreeing contracts

- Deciding what goods, services and equipment are needed and predicting stock levels

- Researching and identifying new products and suppliers

- Managing a procurement team as we grow

- Working across departments to win best value for the company

- Ensuring suppliers deliver on time

- Keeping up with market trends

- Making key final decisions on what to buy before building work can get started

- Responsible for whole projects and a team of people

- Negotiating, networking and working with figures

- Ability to analyse data

The ideal candidate will be degree educated with proven experience working in a similar role with the residential or construction industry. It would be desirable of the candidate had a formal qualification/certificates (MCIPS etc.), though this is not essential.
