Delivering services collaboratively. That’s when it hits home.

We have been changing people’s lives for the better for the last 80 years. Our colleagues, who are passionate, committed and truly inspirational have made us what we are today - the UK’s largest affordable and supported housing provider which builds aspirations and changes thousands of vulnerable people’s lives every single day.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join us in our fantastic Housing Partnership Team. We are responsible for looking after Home Group’s Supported Property Portfolio, where we work in partnership. We are the landlord to a wide range of vulnerable customers who are supported by charitable partner organisations. Together we make sure that our buildings are safe and attractive places to live and work.

As our Senior Client Services Manager (which is what we call our Property Contract Manager here at Home Group) you have some key responsibilities.

Primarily you are responsible for managing the contractual relationships with our external partners and working collaboratively with Home Group colleagues to meet our commercial objectives. You will also lead our team of Housing and Property Management specialists. They provide housing management across a number of properties in and around Tyne and Wear for customers in supported accommodation. It’s a really exciting and varied role, making a genuine difference to people’s lives!

You’ll lead the Housing Partnership Team of Housing Property Specialists. You’ll ensure high performance and quality service delivery using your experience and motivational skills to direct and lead colleagues. You’ll also monitor performance against our contractual and commercial targets.

About our teams

Working for Chris our Housing Partnership Manager who has worked for Home Group an amazing 26 years now(!!). Chris really knows his stuff, so he’ll be your guide! (He’s super fit and loves his bikes, cycling to work every day and always getting involved with our annual charity bike ride).

You’ll work with Keith, Shona, Michael, Ann and Jackie and they’re a really supportive bunch, who love to go out for tea and cake. There’s always a plentiful supply of treats in our office, and while we may all have a sweet tooth, our speciality is providing exceptional housing management in partnership with other organisations.

You will also join the wider Tyneside and Northumberland management team and will work with our managers in a number of different and diverse services. You’ll discover we’re a really friendly bunch!

Working hours

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

A bit about you

We want someone like you, who has significant experience of managing property related contracts. For instance, getting good results associated with KPI’s, budgets and can drive the consistent delivery of high quality services to meet the needs of our customers and commissioners.

Sometimes we have to instruct and guide our partners, so you need to be great at managing relationships, knowledgeable, assertive and confident in your decision making.

You are passionate about property, and get a thrill out of making a property look the best it can be! You’ll have a great understanding of how to keep properties safe and in good repair e.g. ensuring that gas safety certificates are always up to date and repairs are systematically picked up and sorted out promptly.

You thrive on managing your own time, working on your own initiative, have strong written and verbal communication skills and you’re able to positively influence people from all backgrounds.

To be awesome in this job, your key strengths will lie in people management and motivation, bringing colleagues and partners together to share information and best practice. You’ll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders.

It would be brilliant if you’ve got working knowledge of the housing and care and support sectors, property management and housing law. You respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to customers, partners, teams or the contract and it’s also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help you to understand how things work at Home Group!

So, join us and lead a team which is working in partnership; providing fantastic homes for vulnerable people.

As this is a leadership in the community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes.

Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use. On average; you’ll spend at least a couple of days a month visiting and liaising with your partners across the North of England. The role covers Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and the North East. We don’t anticipate many overnight stays, but will leave it for you to manage your own diary!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
