Job Details

A leading energy business is recruiting for an IT Procurement Specialist covering all their internal IT spend. Working closely with key stakeholders to support the business to develop a suite of contracts to support the ambition of the business.

As Procurement Specialist (IT) your key responsibilities will be:

  • Contributing to identifying a range of third-party services required to support the business plans
  • Developing supply chain strategies
  • Gaining Supply Chain Manager and business stakeholders “buy-in”
  • Timely delivery of a portfolio of contracts to support the agreed supply chain strategy
  • Negotiating and obtaining agreements to the optimum supply chain strategy for the business, including identifying and leveraging group supply chain synergies where practical
  • Generating and recording savings for the company by effective supply chain management
  • Developing a supplier base that is appropriate to the size and complexity of the organisation and mitigates the supplier risk in a suitable manner
  • Ensuring that third party suppliers and contractors both understand and work in alignment with our health, safety, environment and quality practices and standards
  • Ensuring that suppliers deliver the expected goods and services to the required quality in a timely manner and at the agreed costs. Manage exceptions effectively and ensure mitigating actions are put in place and followed
  • Ensuring that our risks are understood and mitigated to an agreed level through effective contracts and development of appropriate professional relationships with our key suppliers and contractors
  • Assisting with the ongoing review of supply chain practices and procedures and ad hoc project work
  • Skills and experience required:
  • Previous experience of IT purchasing, in the areas of Software, Telecoms, Hardware, Service Integration and IT Security
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and project planning skills
  • Experience in Bid Process Management including supplier sourcing, documentation, evaluation and selection and managing the tendering and award of contracts for high-value multidiscipline contracts
  • Experience in negotiating high-value contracts
  • MCIPS or working towards
  • Stakeholder management skills with experience and ability in working and advising Senior Management
  • Demonstrate experience of developing supply chain strategies for projects
  • Have a sound understanding of contract and commercial law and contractual terms and conditions
  • Be able to understand complex commercial issues and drive complex commercial negotiations to a conclusion
  • Be a team player with a proven experience working with cross-functional teams
