Contracts Manager

Job Title: Contracts Manager  Location: Sunderland  type: Perm Salary: £50,000-£60,000 Must have experience in all aspects of sheeting and cladding. Flat roofing- single ply/liquid coating/feltAs a contracts manager you will oversee projects from the start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time, safely and within its budget. As a contracts manager, you could be working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. As contracts manager you will sometimes oversee a single scheme, or you may be required to look at several smaller ones. At all times, you are the first pint of contact for members of the public, clients and site operatives either being directly employed labour or sub-contractors for as long as the contract lasts. Duties include: Establish and maintain supplier relationships by serving as a single point of contact for contractual matters. order materials for each project with the Commercial Manager. Organise and control onsite teams. Organisation of plant hire and maintaining cost plan. Attend site meetings. Contribute to work planning, brief project teams, contractors and suppliers. Manage record-keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation. Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally. Monitor and complete contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate. Communicate contract-related information to all stakeholders. Identifying areas for improvement. You will work closely with other professionals, like construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers. You may also have other responsibilities, like overseeing health and safety and on-site Risk Assessments.Working Conditions: You will primarily work outdoors in all weathers. You will be required to also work indoors, in our office. You climb on ladders and scaffolding and work at heights. You would work around 40 hours a week, often working overtime in the evenings and at the weekends to meet deadlines. You might have to travel a lot and spend time away from home. You will wear personnel protective equipment whilst on sites.The working hours are Monday to Friday 40 hours. You need to have: Man-management skills and able to motivate staff. Excellent communication skills. Competent IT skills Physical strength and a good head for heights. Good practical skills. A method approach. Accuracy and an eye for detail. the ability to read plans and follow instructions. Good numeracy skills to calculate materials needed. An awareness of health and safety regulations.You need to be able to work as part of a team. Requirements: Must have experience in all aspects of sheeting and cladding. Flat roofing- single ply/liquid coating/felt Experience at the contracts supervisor level. Valid SMSTS or equivalent.
