Category Buyer - Expanding professional services firm - Oxford - £30,000 - £40,000

Leading global professional services firm is seeking a hard-working, ambitious Buyer who takes real pride in their work to join their existing Procurement function, working out of their stunning Oxford office.

The initial role will have the successful Buyer working alongside senior members of the Procurement team and reporting directly into a Purchasing Manager and experience a wide range of projects within the IT, Marketing, HR, Professional Services catepgories in a role that is geared towards progression within 12-18 months.

The role:

• Gain an understanding of developing stretegies in respect of one-off purchases and category management initiatives.
• This will include gaining an understanding of the market and research to justify recommendations made, ensuring best in class solutions are considered.
• Support the end-to-end tendering process in collaboration with internal stakeholders (Heads of Marketing, IT, HR and more) to ensure their needs are met
• Support the management of a portfolio of supplier relationships

Are there any requirements?

• Bachelor's degree or above from a leading university, ideally with a 2:1 degree or equivalent degree from an international university
• Experience in a fast-paced procurement environment across categories such as IT, Professional Services or Marketing to name a few
• Strong numerate skills, including experience working with Excel and data analytics tools (this can be gained at university)
• Some previous purchasing / procurement experience would be ideal, which could be gained in a post graduate procurement buyer role
• Energetic, proactive personality and keen to develop a career in procurement
• Keen to learn, take on responsibility and progress quickly
