Desserts Devizes is part of Bakkavor Group plc, the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, with a growing international presence in the US and China. In the UK, Bakkavor has 25 factories which are grouped into four core sectors: Meals, Pizza & Bread, Salads and Desserts.

Bakkavor Desserts Devizes is looking to recruit a Logistics Section Leader to assist the Logistics Manager in the day-to-day running of their departments (Dispatch, Distribution, Black Shoe, Packaging cage & Warehouse) - driving performance through the business KPI's.

Accountabilities

Assist the Logistics Manager in maintaining applicable business management systems such as Stevens traceability, Sage, WMS, Online data capture and time ware.
Maintain daily KPI measures, related to performance management, that have been developed by the Logistics Manager.
Monitor GMP standards for your departments as agreed and communicated by the Logistics Manager.
Assist the Logistics Manager in the management of manning levels within your department and ensure that labour is within the confines of the KPI's for manning.
Promite cross functional teamwork and ensure good team working practices are maintained.
Communicate and resolve issues between other departments.
Work with the HR department on all people related issues.Preferred Qualifications:

Ideally educated to A Level or equivalent through work based experience.
Ability to work effectively within a team and on your own initiative.
Basic understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
Good decision making and problem solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels including internal and external customers and senior management.
Good IT skills with a working knowledge of the range of MS Office packages.
Understanding of Quality Control / Compliance.
Effective people management skills (including the day to day running of a team and an understanding of people.
Understanding of KPI's
Understanding of Food Safety Legislation.
Familiarity of HACCP & BRC
Hold FLT licence or willing to gain. In return you will receive salary between £26,000 and £28,000 dependent on experience
